Polaris ESS Network learned that on June 26, Ganfeng Lithium stated at an investor conference that the current lithium price exhibits obvious bottoming characteristics, with the costs of multiple projects unable to support the current lithium price level. If the current lithium price persists, some capacity may exit, and the release of new capacity will also decrease. Combining the industry's cost curve with future demand growth trends, the current lithium price may not be sustainable.
It is reported that Ganfeng Lithium's Goulamina project in Mali has already commenced stable production ramp-up, and the Cauchari-Olaroz salt lake project in Argentina is progressing smoothly, with production reaching 25,400 mt of LCE in 2024, making it the lithium enterprise's largest-producing project in Argentina. Additionally, the Mariana project in Argentina officially commenced production in February 2025.
Ganfeng Lithium stated that with the gradual release of capacity from the Goulamina spodumene project, the Cauchari-Olaroz lithium salt lake project, and the Mariana lithium salt lake project, it is expected that Ganfeng Lithium's self-sufficiency rate will exceed 50% in 2025.
